Liquid Air Separation Unit
Greenfir adopts different process such as air booster process, nitrogen circulating process, low temperature refrigerating process etc. to reduce power consumption. The design and fabrication are based on global high technology standards.
Description
Liquid air separation equipment embodies flexibility in gas supply and strategic reserves. Our liquid equipment employs a highly integrated cryogenic liquefaction process to produce liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquid argon on a large scale. The volume of liquefied gas is only 1/650 of its gaseous state, allowing transportation via tankers, perfectly solving gas supply challenges for areas without pipelines or small to medium-sized users. This solution is particularly suitable for gas peak shaving, enterprises far from central gas supply networks, the gas retail market, and as a backup gas source, ensuring uninterrupted production for customers.
Application Areas:
Cryogenic air separation, capable of simultaneously producing multiple high-purity gases and liquid products, primarily serves large-scale industrial scenarios. In high-end chemical fields, it provides high-purity oxygen and nitrogen raw materials for syngas preparation and petroleum refining; in the metallurgical industry, it supports continuous smelting needs of large integrated steel plants; simultaneously, it adapts to fields such as air separation energy storage and liquid gas storage and transportation, providing guarantees for high-end manufacturing and energy projects with stringent requirements for gas purity and production capacity.
Cryogenic air separation relies on the combined principles of deep refrigeration and distillation:
First, air is cooled to -196°C for liquefaction via expander refrigeration; then, utilizing differences in boiling points of components such as oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, precise separation of multiple components is achieved through repeated evaporation and condensation in distillation columns. Output adapts to large-scale industrial demands, with liquid product output ranging from 10 to 1,000 TPD, and gaseous products can be simultaneously produced in multiple varieties with significant production flexibility. Purity is extremely high: liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen purity are no less than 99.5%, and gaseous oxygen and nitrogen purity can reach above 99.999%.
Core technical parameters:
Minimum temperature of the liquefaction system -196°C; operational load adjustment range 30%~110%; high precision in temperature and pressure control. We possess multiple liquid air separation project references, including liquid nitrogen units, oxygen-nitrogen combined liquefaction units, high-low temperature expansion refrigeration liquid air separation, and single expander with low-temperature chiller processes.

Process Description
Air undergoes pressurization and filtration, preliminary cooling and initial dehydration, followed by deep dehydration via PPU. It then enters the cold box and is cooled to near 0°C via the heat exchanger. It enters a low-temperature chiller to obtain partial cooling capacity, then reenters the main heat exchanger. A small portion is extracted from the middle of the heat exchanger, enters the expander for refrigeration, and then enters the upper column for distillation. The majority is extracted from the bottom and enters the lower column for distillation. Preliminary separation in the lower column yields liquid nitrogen and liquid air, both of which enter the upper column as reflux liquids for distillation. Finally, liquid oxygen is obtained from the bottom of the upper column.
·Manufacturing, Installation, and Commissioning Period: This is an overseas project excluding installation. We provide pure skid mounted supply. The period from contract signing to equipment delivery from the factory is <5 months.
·Advantages: Cryogenic air separation employs efficient distillation and refrigeration technologies, capable of simultaneously producing various gases and liquid products such as oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, with high product purity and comprehensive components. Operation is stable and reliable, with significant advantages in large-scale production and low energy consumption per unit product.
·Why It Is a Classic Case: This unit adopts a special process. Through the application of pinch technology, a low-temperature chiller is added to provide cooling capacity for the unit, reducing the operating load of the compressor. Compared to conventional processes without a low-temperature chiller, energy consumption is reduced by 5%, demonstrating our company's outstanding technical strength.。
